ABOUT FARMILIARITY

Creating food enterprises from local resources.

FARMiliarity Food Processing Parks helps entrepreneurs discover, develop, establish and grow food-processing businesses — working with individuals, farmers, FPOs, SHGs, women entrepreneurs, youth and existing food businesses.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

What we believe, stated plainly.

Don’t start with the loan.
Start with the opportunity.
Don’t just create projects.
Create entrepreneurs.
Don’t just install machinery.
Build production systems.
Don’t just make products.
Build brands.
Don’t leave entrepreneurs alone after commissioning.
Monitor, improve and support them.
Don’t treat farmers only as raw-material suppliers.
Help them participate in value addition wherever feasible.

WHAT MAKES FARMILIARITY DIFFERENT

A loan can buy a machine. An enterprise needs a market.

TRADITIONAL APPROACH

WORKING WITH THE DRP APPROACH

Instead of waiting for entrepreneurs to ask, we go and find the opportunity.

FARMiliarity’s approach is closely aligned with the emerging District Food Enterprise Creator (DRP) philosophy: moving beyond preparing project reports and facilitating loans, toward actively identifying opportunities and creating viable food enterprises.
We are closely following the PMFME/DRP ecosystem and see significant potential for collaboration with government programmes, District Resource Persons, financial institutions, FPOs, SHGs, NGOs and CSR organisations.
FARMiliarity Food Processing Parks is an independent initiative and is not an official Government of Telangana DRP entity or a government-appointed DRP agency. Our objective is to adapt this enterprise-creation approach in Karnataka while building constructive relationships with the relevant government and institutional ecosystem.

OUR GEOGRAPHIC MODEL

We don't need to own the park to make the ecosystem work.

FARMiliarity is based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, but our model is not restricted to Bengaluru. We are prepared to work wherever a viable group of entrepreneurs, local resources and market opportunities can be brought together.
A new Food Processing Park may emerge from:

THE FARMILIARITY PROMISE

We do not promise a loan. We do not promise that every idea will succeed. We do not believe every available subsidy represents a good business opportunity. Instead, we help entrepreneurs answer the questions that actually matter — and then put the systems in place to make those answers work in practice.

What should we make?

Why will people buy it?

How can we make it efficiently?

How do we maintain quality?

What will it cost?

How will we sell it?

How can this become a sustainable business?

Building a replicable model for local food enterprises.

Based in Bengaluru · working wherever viable entrepreneurial groups and local opportunities exist.
